Barnaby's Budgeting Tips: Day 25

We hope you're enjoying the final week of the Great British Budget campaign! This week, Barnaby is bringing you some tips that can help you to stay in the budgeting habit well after the challenge is over. Today's tip could be helpful for those who find it hard to resist temptation...

Barnaby says:

"If you're struggling to stick to your budget, have you tried only using cash? It's likely that your essential spending such as bills will come out of your account by direct debit, but sticking to cash could help you keep your disposable income on-budget. You could work out how much "spending money" you have at the start of the week, withdraw it from an ATM and then put your bank card in a drawer for emergency use only - that should help you avoid impulse purchases!"

Have you tried sticking to a cash budget during the week? What are your tips to cut unnecessary impulse spending? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
